Former GKN Driveline site in Walsall sold

DTZ, part of UGL Services, has sold the former GKN Driveline manufacturing facility site in Aldridge, Walsall.

The 347,125 sq ft manufacturing complex has been purchased by local investor, Property Link Midlands for an undisclosed price.

Site was purchased by local property developers Mr Pal Singh and Mr Sunny Singh of Property Link Midlands, who will be investing up to £3 million to fully refurbish the facility. They plan to divide the site to suit occupier requirements, with space starting from 5,000 sq ft up to 300,000 sq ft.

Mr Pal Singh, said: “We aim to rejuvenate the site into a multi-let business park, creating employment space and good quality office/warehouse and industrial space for local and regional occupiers.”

The site, located on Middlemore Road West in Aldridge, comprises a multi bay industrial facility including production areas, ancillary workshops and a single storey office extension with car parking. The main industrial facility comprises a four bay production workshop and is located two miles from junction 10 of the M6 motorway.

John Sambrooks, Associate Director in DTZ’s Industrial agency team, commented: “Despite the tough commercial property market this manufacturing facility represented an opportunity to acquire a large site in the popular Aldridge area.”
