Amesbury Town Council moves into new offices

The town council of a historic Wiltshire market town has moved its headquarters to more centrally-located modern offices.

Amesbury Town Council instructed property consultancy Myddelton & Major, which has successfully negotiated the lease on an asking rent of £16,250 per annum.

The council let the entire property in the centre of town. Its community and visitors centre is on the ground floor and the council has created offices on the first floor after gaining planning consent.

Myddelton & Major Senior Surveyor Rachael Ward said: “The authority was seeking a more central location to make visiting more convenient for members of the public and we were delighted to help.

“The first floor office, open to the public from 11am to noon and 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday, is just off Salisbury Street in a convenient town centre location.”

The 780 sq ft (72.46 sq m) ground floor forms part of a modern development of retail units.

The first floor office space is 362 sq ft (33.63 sq m). There is rear access for loading and deliveries, together with occupier car parking.

Nearby occupiers include the Aldi supermarket, Coral bookmakers and a range of local and regional tenants.

Historic Amesbury – just nine miles from Salisbury and with a population of 10,274 – has roots stretching back to the Iron Age and much evidence of the Roman occupation.
