GVA appeal to help Bristol’s homeless

Staff, clients and business contacts of Bristol property adviser GVA are once again joining together to support the city’s homeless this Christmas. The Clifton based firm is organising a collection of non-perishable food in aid of the Bristol charity Caring at Christmas.

Last year over 350 kg of food was collected in just under a week for the Caring at Christmas shelter, which is run each year for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed in the city. This year GVA is hoping to top this figure, with support already pledged by a number of local businesses in Clifton.

Vicky Oliver from GVA says, “Caring at Christmas does an amazing job with the donations it receives. Everything we donate goes directly towards providing support, comfort and care to those in need.”

Over the Christmas week Caring at Christmas will be providing the only 24 hour shelter in the city for those who would have nowhere else to go at this time of the year. Last year their fifty beds were full almost every night.  They provide three meals a day, showers, clothes, a safe and friendly environment, books, a television and people to talk to. They also provide access to medical services as well as others such as chiropody, reflexology, hairdressing, live music and more.

Anyone wishing to support Caring at Christmas by donating non-perishable food, can do so by contacting Rhianan at Caring at Christmas on 0117 924 4444, or email them on: [email protected]
