BDO supports initiative to develop employability skills for the workforce of the future

One of the South’s leading accountants and professional advisers BDO LLP has continued its on-going support of the Solent EBP (Education Business Partnership) and Skill Quest Trust’s (SQT) ‘Amazing People’ awards which celebrate excellence in business and education partnerships.

The awards, which are run in partnership with Southampton and Hampshire Local Authorities, recognise the commitment of businesses, schools, colleges, pupils and other partners investing in developing innovation programmes to support young peoples’ preparation for adult life and work.

Stuart Lisle, tax expert and partner at BDO Southampton is Chair of the SQT and is just one of the members of the BDO team who has given up their valuable time to this worthwhile initiative.

Lisle comments: “As a firm we feel it is hugely important to support the effort to build and develop the workforce of the future. We highly value the work that SQT does in relation to young people and vulnerable adults providing them with the work and life skills to enable them to become productive members of the workforce of the future.

“As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility drive, we encourage BDO staff to assist in the SQT programmes and to support events such as Amazing People.”

Winners of the category sponsored by BDO (Amazing People involved in enterprise challenges and curriculum projects: Secondary Schools) were Bitterne Park School Student Shop. The Mr Mister Shower Team also from Bitterne Park was highly commended, as were students from Crestwood College.
