Cardiff law firm shortlisted for ‘Regional Conveyancing Firm of the Year’ award

The property team at a Cardiff-based law firm has been recognised for its expertise by being shortlisted for ‘Regional Conveyancing Firm of the Year’ at the 2013 LFS Conveyancing AwardThe only Welsh law firm to have been shortlisted in these prestigious national awards, Watkins & Gunn Solicitors, which has offices in Llandaff, will now compete against three other firms to be crowned the winner of the ‘Wales and West Midlands’ category.

To get to this stage, the firm has beaten off competition from hundreds of firms nationwide having gone through a rigorous assessment of its conveyancing service which involved an independent panel of judges undertaking a mystery shopping exercise and in-depth compliance review.

Richard Mathias of the LFS Awards said: “It is a fantastic achievement for Watkins & Gunn to make our shortlist. The awards place a strong focus on the consumer but we also look for firms that interact well with the estate agency community.

“Judges have already reviewed what the firm has done to ensure each client receives the highest level of customer care and how it monitors performance in this area. They have also looked at its complaints handling criteria, and what training and compliance procedures the firm has in place to ensure its staff are on top of their game.

“As you can see the process is very rigorous meaning that those firms that are shortlisted and those that go on to win awards can be proud of their achievements and recognised for the high quality standards they set.”

Watkins & Gunn Solicitors was one of the first practices in the United Kingdom to secure membership to the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) – the mark of excellence for the home buying process.

Clive Thomas, Managing Partner of Watkins & Gunn, said: “We are delighted to have made the shortlist of these prestigious awards. It is well deserved recognition for our dedicated Property Team and follows on from being awarded the Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation by the Law Society.

“Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest commitments that we ever make and one of the most stressful. We pride ourselves on the fast, efficient and high quality service that we provide to our clients to make it as smooth a journey as possible.

“We look forward to the finals in September to find out who will be crowned overall winners.”

The winners of the LFS Conveyancing Awards will be announced at a Gala Dinner in Coventry on the 26th September.
