Truslove’s triple success in E-type Challenge

Redditch business property consultant John Truslove has enjoyed a triple success in the early rounds of the Jaguar E-type Challenge series of races in the UK and Belgium this summer.

Jaguar Heritage in association with the Historic Sports Car Club originally launched the series to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar E-type. The series is open to cars built before December 31, 1965.

He is racing a 1963 registered E-type with a 3.8 litre engine, and competed at Donington Park Historic Festival on May 3-5, and the Silverstone International Trophy, May 18-19.

The Donington event featured two races and the Silverstone date one race, and he won his class in all three.

His next event is on the Brands Hatch GP circuit at the HSCC Super Prix on July 13-14, and then to the German Nurburgring in early August. The series concludes with the Oulton Park Gold Cup on August 24-26.

The car has been prepared by John Arnold at Revival Motorsport based at Mallory Park in Leicestershire.

John Truslove said: “The car has a great pedigree and collected a number of class wins in the last couple of years, some with Saloon Superstar John Cleland driving.

“I have really enjoyed this race series, which involves some beautifully restored and maintained examples of one of history’s truly classic cars.

“With John’s preparation and a fair wind, we have high hopes of a continuing competitive and rewarding season.”
