Prospect has secured 3,832 sq ft of office space at IM Properties’ Bourn Building, strengthening its presence in the West Midlands and providing a modern, sustainable workplace for its team.
The UK trade union represents 160,000 professional, technical and managerial workers, with 11 offices across the UK dedicated to advancing workplace rights, wellbeing and fair conditions for its members.
The new office complements the Prospect’s existing bases in Birmingham and Lutterworth supporting its network of 11 offices across the UK serving both the public and private sectors.
Bourn has been designed with a strong people-first ethos, placing wellbeing, accessibility and sustainability at the centre of the working environment. Its central location, close to the train station, makes the building easy to reach by staff, members and visitors.
The building provides a net zero-ready, smart-enabled workplace powered by energy from renewable sources designed to reduce environmental impact while creating healthy, inclusive spaces for those who work there. It holds a BREEAM Very Good certification and an EPC A rating, reflecting its strong environmental credentials.
Occupiers benefit from facilities that support everyday wellbeing, including EV charging points, a cycle hub with maintenance station, first-class changing facilities, air-quality monitoring, indoor greenery and outdoor seating areas.
A shared Social Hub and concierge-led programme of wellness and community engagement events supported by a dedicated app, also encourages collaboration and connection across the building.
Rob Hemus, Director of Asset Management and Sustainability, IM Properties, said: “Bourn is home to a growing, value-led occupier community, and Prospect sits very comfortably within that mix. They are a welcome addition to the building, and we’re proud that an organisation dedicated to protecting workers’ rights and supporting people to achieve their ambitions feels Bourn reflects its organisation and provides a positive environment for its own team.”
With this latest letting, Bourn is now 80 per cent occupied, with just 18,000 sq ft of space remaining. Occupiers include FireAngel, Corona Energy, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Global Insurance Management, and Dexcel Pharma.
CBRE and Bromwich Hardy are acting as agents on Bourn.
