Innes England serves up a new letting

A new food-to-go bakery outlet has set up shop in Nottingham city centre in the shape of German pretzel company Ditsch, in a deal secured by Innes England.

Acting on behalf of Nottingham City Council, the property agency has let the kiosk at a headline rent of £30,000 per annum which is located in a prime position in Smithy Row opposite the Exchange Shopping Arcade and close to Market Square in Nottingham City Centre.

The stand-alone unit sells freshly baked snacks including handheld pizzas, savoury and sweet pretzels and a selection of delicious bakes. All products are prepared and baked on the premises in front of the customers. Ditsch was originally established in 1919 and there are now more than 200 shops in Germany, 35 in Switzerland and 13 in the UK.

In order to prepare the kiosk for food preparation, a joint investment was made by the city council and Ditsch to completely refurbish the unit. This included having the electricity upgraded and water mains improved.

Ben Taylor for Innes England said: “We had a great deal of interest prior to the letting of the kiosk from a number of international companies attracted to its central location and high footfall. Ditsch has made a significant investment with Nottingham City Council to prepare the outlet for food production.

“This is not only a great investment for Ditsch, but for Nottingham also. Ditsch was one of the leading food brands missing from Nottingham’s ever expanding list of retailers helping promote the city’s overall offer.”

Raz Nehushtan, managing director of Ditsch Ltd for the UK said: “We chose Nottingham because we are constantly looking for affluent cities and we targeted the city centre as we rely on passing trade and high footfall for custom. It was quite challenging to preserve the original look of the kiosk and we are pleased with the end result. We are delighted to see that our concept and products are well received.”
