Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has opened its new 17,000 square foot office in Bristol. The harbourside space, located in the Embarq building on Redcliff Quay, is the new workplace for more than 200 Stantec colleagues. Peaches Golding OBE, Lord Lieutenant of Bristol, was the guest of honour at an opening celebration event which marked the beginning of a new chapter in Stantec’s UK growth journey.
Stantec’s new interdisciplinary workspace was launched on the back of more than 20 years of the global firm’s presence in Bristol playing a major role in the wider region’s growth and development. Over the last two decades, the Company has influenced and improved buildings and new communities, as well as local water, transport, and energy networks with a sustainable and community-driven approach.
At the official opening event on 7th October 2026, Peaches Golding OBE, was asked to cut the ribbon, due to her history of advocacy for diversity, inclusion, education, and opportunity across the region. “It is fantastic to see companies like Stantec making long-term commitments to Bristol’s communities while supporting our strong ambitions around sustainability and inclusive growth through the vital work they do, and the vibrant culture-focused careers the company offers,” she said.”
An inclusive, aspirational workspace
The new office provides a central location for its growing teams to collaborate on critical projects and programmes aiming to boost local resilience. Jo Ley, co-office lead, and graphic design associate, added: “From helping improve water infrastructure, delivering cleaner energy solutions, shaping new towns, enhancing transport networks, or designing more sustainable buildings, our work is ultimately about improving people’s lives. This new space will allow us to work together and grow to achieve these goals.”
The new office’s location was chosen due to its close connections to public transport networks and nearby green spaces. The design choice to refurbish an existing building also supports Stantec’s sustainability goals. The office was designed with colleague productivity, creativity, wellbeing, and comfort in mind, and was shaped through employee engagement. The feedback informed the layout and functionality of the space, which includes flexible meeting areas, collaborative zones, quiet working spaces, and adaptable event facilities. All have been incorporated to support different ways of working and create an inclusive environment for employees and visitors.
Dynamic careers to solve complex challenges
“This aspirational new space truly represents who we are as a business and what we believe great workplaces should be,” said Natasha Jones, co-office lead and Stantec’s UK director of Landscape Architecture. “Our offering, whether that’s providing dynamic job opportunities for people driven to achieve, or addressing some of our client’s most complex challenges, allows us to actively create a stronger tomorrow for our clients, communities, and future generations in Bristol and beyond.”
Stantec’s office on Redcliff Quay is its third Bristol-based location in addition to workplaces at Merchants Quay and in Almondsbury.
