Global pharmaceutical company choses iconic office space in Reading

The Blade has welcomed Orion Pharma, the global pharmaceutical company, into its landmark office space in Reading. The firm has moved into The Blade’s 9th Floor North taking 3,622 sq ft of space over a 10 year lease. The move was prompted by the announcement that Orion’s former office was being converted into residential space.

Headquartered in Finland, the Orion team chose The Blade as its UK base to create an impressive office space which properly echoed its reputation as a leading player in the pharma sector. As part of the deal The Blade managed the fit out of the space on Orion Pharma’s behalf, creating a bespoke and branded office for the team.

Orion Pharma is part of the Orion Corporation which was founded in 1917. The company develops, manufactures and markets human and veterinary pharmaceuticals and active pharmaceutical ingredients for global markets.

Ian Wariner, Country Manager at Orion Pharma UK, comments: “When looking for a new office, we wanted to consider several different spaces in Reading. As a growing and forward looking company we needed somewhere that ticked as many boxes as possible, but most importantly wanted a space with a positive working environment that made the Orion team want to be here! Of all of the sites we visited, The Blade offered the best environment, from the welcoming entrance space through to our wonderful 9th floor office with lovely open views. We’ve been here for a few months and everyone has been so pleased with our choice, from the space itself to the meeting room fit out, and very easy access to Reading right outside the door. We’re all delighted to be based here and would like to thank everyone at The Blade for their welcome and help in getting us in on time.”

Nick Turner, Asset Manager at The Blade, adds: “We are delighted to welcome Orion Pharma to The Blade. They join an inspiring group of companies who have chosen to base themselves in this superb space and have been extended a very warm welcome from our thriving business community.”
