A long-established builders’ yard in Solihull has been purchased by Buildland Ltd, an expanding builders’ merchant, in a deal sealed by commercial property agency Bond Wolfe.
Buildland has bought the freehold premises at 1020-1022 Old Lode Lane from Mahoney’s, who had operated from there for nearly half a century.
The exact purchase price has not been disclosed, but it is understood to have been close to the guide price of £1.25 million.
The 0.6-acre site, backing onto Sheldon Retail Park, includes a substantial warehouse, sales area and offices extending to 14,282 sq ft, plus a large car park and rear and side yard areas.
James Mattin, managing director of Bond Wolfe, said: “We are delighted to have assisted Mahoney’s with the sale of this prominent site in Solihull.
“Mahoney’s has served the local community with distinction for over 55 years and we now look forward to seeing Buildland take over the reins.
“The site was sold after a competitive bidding process, demonstrating continued demand for well-located strategic sites such as this.”
