Purpose built care home purchased by Welford Healthcare

Parkview Gloucester, a 97-bed purpose-built care home, developed and operating since 2016 by Parkview Gloucester, has been purchased by Welford Healthcare, in a deal secured by Colliers’ Healthcare team.

The full shareholding of the business, which includes 80 ensuite bedrooms and 17 self-contained one and two bedroom close care apartments, in the centre of Gloucester, was purchased for £17.5million following a discreet marketing process by Colliers.

The care home, which provides palliative, dementia and end of life care is situated on the corner of Trier Way and Southgate Street. The home has direct access the 11-acre Gloucester Park. It will join Welford Healthcare’s portfolio of 33 bespoke care homes across England.

Peter Madden from Welford Healthcare said: “We’re delighted to be adding Parkview Gloucester into our operations. The quality building and quality of care at the home, fits into the character of our business and the homes that we operate. We’re looking forward to getting to know the staff and our residents at the home and working with them to ensure they’re getting the best quality of care.”

Richard Harris, Co-Head of Healthcare at Colliers, said: “We’re thrilled to have supported the owners of Parkview together with solicitors, HCR Law on this transaction. Welford were represented by Cushman & Wakefield and Clarke Willmott.

“The quality of the development of this property, and the high standards of its management over the last decade is what helped it stand out in the market. We undertook a very targeted marketing campaign, mindful of the need for discretion so as not to disturb existing residents and staff. We’re delighted to have identified an operator who will maintain the ethos of quality care and stability for the residents of the care home.”
