DPP Planning, one of the UK’s leading independent planning consultancies, has announced two key promotions at its Cardiff headquarters.
Nathan Slater has been promoted from a Senior Planner to Principal Planner and Cêt Roberts is stepping into a role as a Senior Planner, after working her way up since joining DPP’s graduate scheme in 2022.
Nathan Slater joined DPP in September 2024 from a planning consultancy in Bristol, having spent eight years as a project manager at the Vale of Glamorgan Council prior to that. Since joining the Cardiff team, Nathan has been involved in a huge variety of projects and has taken the lead on several high-profile residential projects. His technical knowledge and client-focused approach have instilled huge confidence in clients, who look to him to guide complex projects such as the creation of a new motorsports arena in Wiltshire.
He has also secured several new clients for DPP since joining and supports his junior colleagues through their training modules to gain further qualifications.
Cêt Roberts promotion to Senior Planner at the Cardiff office follows a swift progression within DPP. Since joining as an Assistant Planner on its graduate scheme in 2022, she was promoted to planner within a year.
Over the past 12 months, Cêt has taken on project management responsibility across a range of projects and sectors, working across DPP’s Cardiff, Leeds, London and Newcastle offices, and her personable nature means she has developed excellent working relationships internally and externally. Cêt has also led the Cardiff office’s social value activity as well as organising regular social activities contributing to team cohesion and staff wellbeing.
Gareth Hooper, CEO of DPP Planning, said of the promotions: “We are proud to be able to announce these promotions at DPP. Our team is growing in numbers, expertise and confidence, and it is showing in the projects we are managing and the business we are winning.
“It is also great to see that DPP’s investment in our graduate scheme is also paying off with people like Cêt progressing and excelling with us.”
Gareth added: “Our independence is central to our success and continues to attract some of the most promising talent in the business to our graduate schemes. But it is likewise very rewarding to see those who have joined us with more experience also see the benefits of working at a consultancy like DPP and are developing and advancing their careers with us.”
