Senior Town Planner/Junior Associate (Cambridgeshire)

A fantastic role has arisen for a chartered town planner to join a leading consultancy in the heart of Cambridge. We are ideally looking for a Senior Planner or Junior Associate.

This firm have an excellent reputation across the country and have an enviable client base of prestigious developers, housebuilders, land owners, property companies, land promotion companies, institutional organisations, and public sector clients. The work will be a mix of residential, mixed-use, strategic, commercial, energy/environmental/infrastructure work as well as exciting regeneration schemes. This will include pre-application advice, preparation and submission of applications, site promotion work, S106 negotiations, public consultation work and consultative advice to the broad client base.

This firm are a great believer in promoting individual progression so they encourage client contact and ownership of schemes. At Senior Planner level, you will be running small-medium scale schemes and supporting on larger schemes taking on more responsibility as you progress. At Associate level you will be taking ownership of some larger scale schemes as well as running smaller ones and mentoring the juniors assisting you. There is great career progression as well; the majority of the Directors joined the firm as Planners and Senior Planners and the firm really reward and look after their staff. The office environment is friendly and supportive with low staff turnover. The office is being heavily invested in by the firm and it is a great time to join them.

We are looking for MRTPI qualified candidates, ideally operating at Senior Planner level or fairly new to the Associate grade. We can also consider strong Planners looking for a step-up as long as your experience is of the right calibre. You will ideally have some private sector experience (consultancy experience is preferred) but local authority experience in a development management led role in the local area will also be considered. We are looking for confident planners with a commercial outlook who enjoy networking, building contacts and business development. At the Associate level you should be able to demonstrate some previous business development experience and you should be well connected in the East Anglia region.
