Senior Planner (Public Sector work) – Consultancy – Bristol

Posted on: 25/07/2018 ~ Company:

Do you love focussing on public sector planning work but want to work for a private sector firm? Are you looking for a friendly and supportive working environment where you can reach your full potential and be rewarded for it? This could be the role for you.

A unique opportunity has arisen for a chartered town planner around the Senior Planner level to join an expanding planning consultancy based in Bristol city centre. This firm have a strong reputation in planning and have a network of offices across the UK. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of 6 planners which is part of a larger office.

This is a unique role in that it is operating within a private sector consultancy but focussing on public sector work. Your role will include (but are not limited to);

  • The project management of development plan policy and evidence work;
  • Local plan policy drafting/production/management;
  • Employment Land Reviews;
  • Housing/Employment evidence work;
  • Greenbelt reviews;
  • Marketing and business development activities for public sector work (including competing for tenders and utilising contacts within LPA’s);
  • Mentor and help to manage the workload of junior members of staff.

We are keen to hear from MRTPI qualified planners who have a strong policy background (either from another consultancy or from a local authority). There is also the opportunity to be involved with some planning application work (to keep your workload varied) so development management experience is welcomed as long as it is coupled with policy experience. Experience of representing an LPA at Local Plan examination would be advantage but not essential. You should be confident in client facing situations and building client relationships. You should also enjoy networking and have the intuition to follow up leads, cross-sell and develop work to/from existing and new clients.

You will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package including private health care, pension scheme and bonus scheme.

For more information on this role and/or to apply please send your CV (which will be treated in the strictest of confidence and never sent to any client without fully briefing you and gaining your permission) to Ruth Hoggett ([email protected]).
