Senior Planner (Part Time) – Central London

Posted on: 19/10/2016 ~ Company:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a chartered Town Planner to join an internationally successful brand who have recently launched in the UK due to a demand in their expertise in central London. This firm specialise in city centre sites mainly (but not restricted to) within the listed building, heritage and culturally significant buildings sector. Their office is in Central London and you will be joining a small but very friendly and skilled team of acquisition specialists, project managers and business developers.

We are seeking a Town Planner to join the firm initially on a Part Time basis, increasing to Full Time (if you wish), as the company and portfolio grows. If you wish to stay Part Time they can also consider this with a second planning appointment for you to manage at that point. The firm can offer flexible working hours with later start/finish times or compressed hours in longer days, shorter hours over more days or a combo of home/office working, as long as there is a regular presence in the office to work alongside the others keeping the efficient team environment going. We are looking at a half week (2.5 days) contract initially.

The successful candidate will be operating around the Senior Planner level and have a strong grounding in central London planning schemes and have up to date knowledge of planning policy, particularly within Westminster, Tower Hamlets and other central Boroughs. We can consider candidates coming from the private or public sector. It will be particularly advantageous if you have experience of listed building/conservation and heritage schemes but this isn’t essential. You will need to have some application based experience and exposure to the appeal process is also advantageous.

Your role will include providing in-house and external planning advice, feasibility work, preparing and submitting planning applications, managing any appeals, monitoring and discharging conditions, due diligence, business development activities as a representative of the firm, networking, attending conferences and the selling of services, attending committee and various events (these will sometimes be evening events).

You will be rewarded with a competitive (pro-rata) salary, bonus scheme (to be structured together) and flexible working hours if required.

To apply for this role please do not hesitate to contact Ruth Hoggett ([email protected]). By clicking apply, please be assured that your CV will not be sent to the client until you have been fully briefed on the role and given permission for us to do so.
