Senior Planner (Buckinghamshire)

A great opportunity has arisen with a commercial consultancy in Buckinghamshire. This team of property consultants are looking for an in-house planner to manage the planning service within the firm. You will be joining a small (5) but friendly office in a convenient town centre location with parking available for staff.

We are looking for an MRTPI qualified Town Planner with a good grounding in development management led work (a good variety of schemes would be advantageous) and a good understanding of local and regional planning policy. This firm have an impressive portfolio of high profile clients for whom they provide bespoke advice on various sites across the country, this includes planning feasibility, alternative use advice, gaining planning permission and often selling sites on behalf of the clients. Your role will be to manage the planning process, including providing such advice, preparing and submitting planning applications, S106 negotiations, managing associated external consultants and managing any appeals. We are ideally looking for candidates with some consultancy experience but those coming from the public sector will also be considered. This role would suit candidates who are confident operating at Senior Planner level so we can also consider strong planners who are perhaps held back by a corporate structure looking for a step-up.

This is a replacement role as the current incumbent is relocating overseas, the firm have found that having an in-house planner has been invaluable and are offering an excellent opportunity to have more autonomy and responsibility to your role, have excellent client contact and add value to a good variety of projects.
