Posted on: 22/11/2016 ~

Our client’s estates department runs a large operational portfolio and is responsible for strategic planning, development and management of multiple building types and land, ultimately providing a high quality and safe environment for service users and visitors.

We have been appointed to recruit to a new Project Manager role to oversee alterations, refurbishments, extensions and new build, taking overall responsibility for managing construction/project costs across residential accommodation and catering facilities. We are therefore inviting applications from RICS QS or PM disciplined candidates, preferably with pre and post contract experience overseeing concurrent projects.

Coming into live projects in early 2017, you should be a ‘doer’ with a passion for providing outstanding service in a team environment with the ability to build long-term working relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Working with senior Finance and Procurement colleagues, you will have practical experience of real world risk management and due to the nature of the projects, technically, you should be proficient in services design and specification for the accommodation and hospitality sector.

Ideally to be successful in the role you should have strong problem solving skills while monitoring consultants and contractors, experience of allocating work and an ability to plan and program works around live operations managing costs. You may be working in a cost consultancy team in a PM role or already on the client side, perhaps in the education, hospitality, leisure or health sectors and possibly have gained experienced managing costs with a main contractor.

Our client is offering a competitive salary with excellent benefits which includes: a significantly above market rate pension contribution, holiday provision of 26 days plus bank plus 5 discretionary days, subsidised gym membership and fitness classes, free car parking and access to other facilities including on-site child care.
