Principal or Associate Town Planner (East Midlands)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Principal or Associate level Town Planner to join an expanding planning consultancy in the East Midlands (Nottinghamshire area). This firm are a multi-discipline organisation with planning at their core. They have a very strong name in the industry and a well-established client base.

This is a full-time position and offers the chance to work on an exciting variation of projects. You will be working on a wide portfolio of schemes to include; residential, mixed-use, commercial and environmental projects. Your role will include feasibility studies, appraisal advice, writing planning statements, preparing and submitting planning applications, preparing design and access statements, attending site visits and pre-application meetings, preparing evidence to support appeals, site promotion work, building and maintaining client relationships whilst providing expert planning advice to a range of clients.

The successful candidate will hold a completed RTPI accredited masters degree and will also be MRTPI. Ideally your experience will have been gained in a similar consultancy environment but local authority experience will also be considered. You will ideally be working in the East Midlands market but relocators will be considered with connections to the area. You should have excellent report writing skills, presentation skills and be confident in client facing situations. You will be working as part of a team but should also be able to work independently to often tight deadlines. You should also have a good understanding of local and regional planning policy and be comfortable running medium/larger scale projects and coordinating junior support and internal/external project teams.
