Planning Director (Newcastle)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Director level Planner to join a leading practice in Newcastle. This firm have an excellent reputation across the country and operate across all planning sectors with an enviable client base. They have been rapidly expanding over the last 12 months and this is an excellent time to join them with further expansion on the horizon.

Your role will involve managing a number of complex projects; written representations; informal hearing and public inquiry submissions; submission of representations to development plans; site appraisals; S106 negotiations; and preparing and submitting planning applications. At this level you will be running projects, coordinating teams and managing junior staff assisting you on projects. The sector of projects varies and includes residential, mixed-use, commercial, environmental and strategic sites amongst others. The team also get involved with housing need analysis, land supply and demographics work so it’s a really interesting mix. There is an impressive client base to work with including blue chip clients, land owners and developers. At this level you should also be able to show that you have good contacts and be comfortable in business development activities and enjoy this side. At this senior level, consultancy experience is preferred.
