Beach Baker are pleased to be instructed by a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy in the search for a chartered Town Planner to join their expanding office in Oxfordshire. The team can consider an appointment at either Planner or Senior Planner level.

This firm have a strong reputation across the country and planning is a core service for them being one of the most profitable areas of the business. They are an award-winning practice and regularly appear in the top 10 consultancies for performance. Their Oxford office is one of their key offices and they have a strong planning team here. The team cover a wide range of project work including residential, mixed-use, commercial, environmental, minerals and waste, leisure and retail work.

We are looking for MRTPI qualified planners who have a good grounding in development management led work. Knowledge of the local area is advantageous but relocators with this kind of experience will also be considered. Consultancy experience is preferred but we also welcome applications from housebuilder/developers and local authorities where candidates have been in a hands-on planning role, dealing directly with preparing and submitting planning applications. You should be comfortable in client facing situations and enjoy working as part of a team.

Your role will include feasibility and appraisal work, preparing and submitting planning applications, providing bespoke advice to the firm’s client base, maintaining existing and enhancing client relationships, cross-selling other departments, coordinating other professional input to projects where needed and building upon your project management experience. You should have strong report writing, communication and presentation skills, be client facing and enjoy networking situations.
