Historic Building Surveyor – Prestigious Charity

Location: Surrey

Salary: £39,000 +

A well-known and long established charity are looking for a chartered building surveyor to join their Surrey office within the Estates department on a permanent basis. They care for over 400 historic buildings and tourist attractions across the UK including castles and ancient monuments and prehistoric sites.

The practice areas that the candidate will be involved in include the stewardship of National Collection of Building ensuring that collections that are handed over to future generations are in a good or beter condition than they were inherited. The successful candidates primary responsilbitiy will to carry out periodic condition surveys of assets a collection of historic properties.

You will be expected to travel to sites around the Surrey area. There is the opportunity to work from home, however the candidate will have to attend meetings in the Surrey office. You will have a recognised degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction and ideally be MRICS or working towards this. You will ideally have worked on conservation/heritage projects, but this is not essential; your desire to continually learn and lead others is of crucial importance.
