A great opportunity is available for a Graduate Planner to join an expanding planning and development consultancy In Surrey. This firm are a good regional firm with a great reputation across the South East and Thames Valley area. You will be joining a small but very established planning team (5) in a friendly and supportive office environment. There is parking on site and the location is well positioned for commuters (easily commutable locations include; Guildford, Woking, Wokingham, Reading, Farnham, Slough, Epsom, Leatherhead, Weybridge, Winchester, Basingstoke, Croydon, Crawley, Twickenham).

The role will offer a lot of variety and will include; research; planning appraisals, preparing and submitting planning applications; S106 negotiations; assisting with appeal work; coordinating external teams where required; maintaining client relationships and being a valued ambassador for the firm. There is the opportunity for candidates to take on their own case load of projects as well as assisting the Directors on major schemes. The firm are currently working on a wide range of projects typically in the; residential, industrial, commercial, retail, education and minerals and waste sectors.

We are looking for candidates who have a completed RTPI accredited masters degree who are working towards being MRTPI. This position is suitable for candidates who have recently finished their degrees and looking for their first planning role or who ideally have a bit of work experience under their belts too. It is key that you have a good understanding of development management as well as local and regional planning policy/legislation. You should have strong report writing skills, be confident in client facing situations and be keen to progress/learn new skills. There are unlimited progression opportunities with this firm.
