A fantastic clientside opportunity has become available for a Town Planner to join an expanding niche property company in Gloucestershire. This firm are leaders within their market and have an impressive portfolio of sites across the UK. We are seeking a junior planner (most likely operating at Planner level elsewhere) to assist in managing and enhancing the firm’s portfolio via the planning system. The firm are undergoing a rapid period of expansion following the successful growth of their portfolio across the UK with further large instructions imminent. Your role will involve writing planning statements, preparing and submitting applications and subsequently managing any that go to appeal, monitoring and discharging conditions and providing bespoke planning advice. You will be reporting to the firm’s Planning Manager enhancing the firms planning capability, championing best planning practice and planning related risk mitigation.

The successful candidate will need to have a good grounding in application work and understand the process. Therefore, we are seeking applications from candidates with a minimum of 12-18 months’ experience either from a local authority environment (preferably development management or possibly enforcement) or from a private consultancy/developer. Some travel will be required (usually a day every fortnight but can be slightly less/more depending on site locations). This position does not offer home working so you should be based in a commutable distance to the office (Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester and Swindon are all within reasonable distance). We can however consider a full time applicant or part time (minimum 3 days per week). We are looking for candidates who have the ability to work independently as well as within the team. You should have strong organisational skills, work hard and be able to manage your time efficiently.
