Clientside Planning Manager (Bristol) FTC

Posted on: 18/04/2019 ~ Company:

A fantastic opportunity to work clientside for a large corporate in the Bristol area has arisen due to a maternity cover need. There is the possibility of extension at the end of the 12 months which is of course dependent on how the workload increases over the contract. The organisation is going through a huge period of planned growth and this role is to replace the in-house planning manager.

Sitting within the planning and development team you will play a key part in delivering the organisation’s expansion plan. You will be an MRTPI planner operating around the Senior Planner/Associate level or an in-house Planning Manager yourself for another firm. We can consider both public and private sector backgrounds, a good understanding and practical experience of development management work is essential so pure policy backgrounds would not be suitable. However, policy knowledge is important.

Your responsibilities include preparing and submitting applications, managing external consultancies (planners, architects, solicitors, ecologists etc.), responding to core strategy and greenbelt issues, monitoring S106 agreements, stakeholder and public consultation work and being the main point of contact for planning within the firm. This is a really diverse role and will offer the opportunity to give you a really rounded skill set with plenty of responsibility. We are looking for strong characters that are able to effectively deal with different personalities across different teams and ensure that projects are delivered on time and in the most efficient manner, in-line with planning regulation. The next 12 months is a key time for the firm and an exciting time to be working for them as you will see projects evolve and take ownership for new expansion plans.

There is an excellent reward package on offer for the successful candidate including a very competitive base salary, free parking, lots of perks related to the organisation’s industry, BUPA health care, in-house rewards and incentive schemes.

For a confidential discussion about this role please do not hesitate to contact Ruth Hoggett. By clicking apply, please be assured that your CV will not be sent to the client until you have been fully briefed on the role and given permission for us to do so. We aim to get back to all applications; however, due to the volume of applications we receive, we are not always able to do so. If you have not received a response within 4 – 5 working days, please assume your application has not been successful this time round. We will confidentially retain your details and inform you of any other suitable opportunities arising should you not be successful in this role.
