Building Surveyor

Posted on: 29/04/2016 ~

Our client is a market leading, privately owned property management business handling income and maintenance expenditure of a large portfolio of leasehold and freehold property on managed developments. Due to their continued success, they are seeking a Building Surveyor with a passion for maintenance services and customer satisfaction.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Contract administration for planned maintenance works;
  • Inspecting and reporting upon building defects, and implementing remedial works;
  • Analysis of proposed alterations by leaseholders, and issuing licences;
  • Snagging new-build estates at handover from developers;
  • Provide advice to the estate management team and the in-house legal department on building technology.

We’re keen to hear from Graduate Building Surveyors with at least a year’s practical experience with an emphasis on specification and contract administration (you’ll get in house APC support to gain MRICS status) or a more experienced MRICS Building Surveyor who has a preference to work on specification and contract administration management on a variety of remedial works. Candidates with additional NEBOSH and or Fire Risk Assessment qualifications would also stand-out, as well as those with a real attention to detail required in this sector while overseeing JCT forms of contract.

You should be confident in liaison with property managers and customers for whom building technology is not their first language, have a good standard of written and general communications and be willing to undertake travel to various parts of the South of the UK and Wales.

On offer is a salary commensurate with experience, a car allowance, option to join the health-care scheme after a probationary period and other benefits.
