Associate Town Planner (Leeds)

Beach Baker are pleased to be instructed by a leading planning consultancy to recruit an Associate Planner for their expanding Leeds office. This firm have an excellent reputation in the area and further afield. A lot of their work is repeat business and they have a very impressive client list which they have built up over the years. They are an independently run consultancy offering planning and design services to public and private sector clients and offer a friendly and supportive working environment.

The team have been extremely busy and are looking to expand at the Associate level. It is essential that candidates are MRTPI qualified and have consultancy experience, preferably gained in the Yorkshire/North/Midlands area. The project work is very varied including residential, mixed-use, commercial, environmental (including EIA work) and logistics work so we are ideally looking for a generalist. We may though, also consider candidates with specialisms if you can demonstrate good contacts and fee generation in said areas. Public Inquiry experience would also be advantageous.

We may consider a strong Senior/Principal Planner looking to work for a progressive firm as long as the skill set is a good match. To be considered for an Associate level appointment, you should be able to demonstrate strong project management skills of medium-large scale projects which includes coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring tight deadlines are met and that targets are delivered in the most efficient way possible. You should have a good contact base in the Leeds/wider market and be able to show a strong ability in developing and maintaining such relationships as well as some experience in mentoring junior members of staff.
