Associate Planner (Kent)

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a chartered Town Planner operating at Associate level to join a leading planning team in Kent. You will be joining a well-established team working on some really exciting projects.

This team work on an interesting portfolio of work which includes large-scale projects within residential (both immediate and strategic), mixed-use and commercial sectors. They have an impressive client base including housebuilders, resi developers, land promoters, landowners, property companies and government institutions amongst others. Your role will include pre-application advice, writing planning statements, preparing and submitting planning applications, S106 negotiations, appeals, coordinating internal and external sub-consultancy teams, liaising with other professions and technical disciplines and cross-selling across the disciplines of the firm.

We are looking for an MRTPI qualified Town Planner who has a good grounding in development management led work and with a good working knowledge of local, regional and national planning policy. Consultancy experience is essential at this level, and we are ideally looking for local experience/knowledge (the team operate across the South East, South Coast and greater London Boroughs). With regards to project experience, a generalist would be the best fit although we can look at specialists in respective sectors or complimenting sectors if you can demonstrate a good contact base. On top of this experience you will be able to show passion and drive for working in the private sector, be organised in nature with very good communication, presentation and project management skills. You will be able to manage large scale schemes and coordinate associated consultancy teams and juniors to deliver projects to tight deadlines. You will have an analytical mind and be confident in client facing situations. You should also be comfortable with networking and business development activities.
