A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a well-respected planning consultancy for an Associate or Associate Director to join their expanding team in London. This firm have an excellent reputation across the country and as such have an enviable client base of high profile private and public sector organisations. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team in a large, modern, open-plan office which offers planning consultancy services across the South of England.

You will have the chance to work with a mix of clients including volume and niche housebuilders, commercial developers, private land owners, property companies, retailers and public sector organisations. The team work on small – large scale residential, mixed-use, commercial and retail-led developments across the South of England but primarily in London and the South East. The firm are a strong name within the planning world and are an award winning practice.

We are looking for candidates who are MRTPI qualified and have had the majority of their experience in the private sector, ideally from a consultancy environment. At this level you should be able to demonstrate a good contact base and your ability to win new business as well as building and maintaining strong client relationships. This firm have excellent junior resource and are looking for individuals who enjoy mentoring alongside a hands on planning role. Your role will include; planning appraisals; planning statements; preparing and submitting planning applications; feasibility studies; mentoring junior staff; public consultation; providing bespoke planning advice to a range of clients; building and maintaining client relationships; developing the company brand; attending networking events; business development and working to tight deadlines. You should have a commercial approach to business, have excellent organisational skills, work well in a team environment, have confidence in client facing situations/presenting to clients and enjoy a hands on planning role.
