A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Associate level Environmental Planner to join a leading independent consultancy in their Reading office. This company have a national network of offices and their environmental team is spread across 5 of these offices operating as one business unit. This organisation has a number of complimentary disciplines including town planning and Infrastructure and this role offers the opportunity to work closely with these teams offering a national service to an impressive client base.

You will be working on large scale projects within a range of sectors including environmental, energy, infrastructure, residential, mixed-use, commercial, logistics, EfW, Solar and Rail. This is both from and EIA (whereby the team manage the full EIA process) and a Strategic Planning angle (work around sustainability appraisals, evidence based work behind local plans etc).

We are ideally looking for dual qualified MRTPI and IEMA candidates but could consider one of these qualifications with experience and knowledge of the other. For example, you will have excellent technical knowledge and understanding of environmental impact assessment best practice and how this applies to the UK Planning system. You will have proven experience of all stages of the EIA process (screening, scoping, EIA management & coordination, preparation of Environmental Statements (ES)) and post-submission/determination. Experience in other environmental planning services including Sustainability Appraisal, sustainability statements, health impact assessment, advice relating to Habitats Regulations Assessment. and the audit of third-party reports would also be desirable. Managing these issues in the context of the Development Consent Order (DCO) process as well as Town & Country Planning would also give an advantage
