Associate Director – Town Planning – Bristol

A unique opportunity has arisen for a chartered town planner around the Associate/Associate Director level to join an expanding planning consultancy based in Bristol city centre. This firm have a strong reputation in planning and have a network of offices across the UK. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of 5 planners which is part of a larger office.

This firm have an established client base which includes local and regional housebuilders, developers, landowners and public-sector bodies. They are offering a varied workload of projects ranging from small scale projects right up to large urban extensions. The majority of the work is residential led or mixed-use, but they also get involved in Greenbelt work, strategic sites (including 5yr land supply work) and public-sector work. Your role will include; leading on your own projects as well as supporting Directors where required; providing comprehensive planning advice to a range of clients, supporting and mentoring junior members of staff; taking a hands on approach to delivering projects; maintaining and developing existing client relationships whilst forging new ones through business development activity and networking; Preparing and presenting evidence to hearings, inquiries and examinations; all whilst being organised, punctual and a professional ambassador for the company.

We are looking for MRTPI qualified candidates, ideally with private sector backgrounds but local authority backgrounds will also be considered if you can demonstrate good contacts in the area and are confident in a client facing and business generation role. You must have strong development management experience and residential project experience is a big advantage. Some experience of managing junior staff is useful but not essential. A full driving licence is required.
