Assistant Planner or Planner (London)

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading property consultancy in London for a town planner to join their expanding team. This firm are one of the largest and most successful names in property and this role is to be based in their prestigious central London offices.

This firm have a large list of enviable clients which you will be working with including; prestigious developers, housebuilders, retailers, land owners, estates and government funded organisations. This will produce a varied work load of exciting schemes in central London as well as Great London and the South East. Projects will be a mix of residential, mixed-use, commercial, retail and education schemes.

We are looking for town planners who are MRTPI (or MRICS P&D) qualified (with circa 1-3 years’ post qualification experience) or who have at least 12 months’ experience in planning and are working towards their RTPI membership. We can consider candidates who have either public or private sector planning experience but you should be keen to progress your career in a consultancy environment. Experience in application led work is an advantage. Your role will include planning feasibility studies, preparing and submitting application of varying scale and complexity, supporting Directors and senior staff in delivering quality bespoke advice to the client portfolio and maintain the strong relationships in place. You will be delivering work to set deadlines and delivering advice internally to other disciplines as well as to external clients. You will assist in identifying business opportunities for the team and also opportunities to cross-sell between departments.

Candidates should be confident in client facing situations, thrive in a team environment, have good presentation and marketing skills, excellent commercial awareness, good communication skills, excellent time management and organisational skills as well as strong report writing skills.
