Assistant Planner or Planner (Leeds)

Beach Baker have been instructed by one of our key clients (a leading planning consultancy with a national network of offices) to recruit an Assistant Planner or Planner to join their expanding Leeds office. This award-winning practice have an excellent reputation in the market and are one of the top firms in the North of England.

We are looking for an Assistant Planner (minimum of 12 months’ experience) working towards their MRTPI or a Planner (up to around 3 years’ experience) who is already MRTPI qualified. We can consider candidates with public or private sector backgrounds but you should have a good working knowledge of development management led work. Consultancy experience is an advantage to have that commercial understanding but there is excellent support and training with this organisation. All candidates should have an RTPI accredited planning degree and UK based experience. Knowledge of the Leeds/Yorkshire market is advantageous and a confident understanding of local and regional policy is essential.

You will be working with a varied client base of developers, housebuilders, land owners, investors, retailers and public sector/government organisations in relation to residential, mixed-use and commercial schemes. The role will involve planning research, feasibility studies, planning appraisals, the preparation and submission of planning applications, S106 negotiations, providing bespoke planning advice to clients, policy analysis and building/maintaining strong client relationships.
