Assistant Planner (Kent)

Posted on: 06/06/2018 ~ Company:

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an Assistant Town Planner to join an expanding planning team in the Maidstone area of Kent. This is a great opportunity to join a firm with an excellent reputation in the market and who can offer a structured, mentoring support programme to enable you to become a chartered planner at the earliest opportunity.

Candidates must hold a completed RTPI accredited UK masters degree and ideally an undergraduate degree of 2:1 and above (although there may be flexibility on this for a strong application). You will ideally have 6 – 18 months experience but we will also consider a masters graduate with no experience for the right person. Ideally candidates will be living in the Kent area or have a connection to the area. You should be able to demonstrate good report writing skills, confident presentation and communication skills and plenty of enthusiasm for the planning sector. We’re looking for a good team player who works well to deadlines and enjoys a busy office environment.

You will be joining a small planning team that is part of a larger planning offering across other offices and there are other disciplines around you, so the office environment is busy and sociable.

Your role will include research/analysis; preparing and submitting planning applications; writing planning statements; preparing Design & Access statements; liaising with internal and external professionals and consultants as well as keeping up to date with local, regional and national planning policy.

You will be rewarded with a competitive salary and benefits package, full RTPI support including an assigned mentor, access to the company bonus scheme and excellent progression opportunities.

To apply for this role please do not hesitate to contact Ruth Hoggett ([email protected]). By clicking apply, please be assured that your CV will not be sent to the client until you have been fully briefed on the role and given permission for us to do so. We will confidentially retain your details and inform you of any other suitable opportunities arising should you not be successful in this role.
