New director leads risk management at Colliers International

Ian Hardman, head of risk management, Colliers International.

Chartered surveyor and stalwart valuations expert, Ian Hardman, has been appointed as the new head of risk management at Colliers International.

He joined Colliers this month taking the position previously held by Sara Duncan, who has been leading the UK Valuation & Advisory team at the global real estate firm since the beginning of the year.

Ian has more than two decades of experience having previously worked for advisors Savills, JLL, and CBRE Finance. He has also worked directly in the real estate lending sector in risk and underwriting roles for major European banks.

Sara Duncan, Head of Valuation & Advisory commented: “Ian has a wealth of knowledge of the sector which will be of great benefit to the team. His experience both in-house with banks and property advisory services means he’s well versed to advise on valuation, investment and loan security risk. With his strong track record in real estate valuations, loan security risk analysis and underwriting across all UK property sectors, Ian will be leading on the company’s risk management function and will be working closely with the commercial, portfolio, specialist and residential valuations teams in order to assist them in providing the best service to our clients having regard to current legislation and professional standards.
