The Grosvenor Place building to be the new Cleveland Clinic London.

Leading commercial decoration company Harvey UK has won a contract to carry out the decorating and finishing of the largest private hospital in Europe. The work will be delivered out of Henley-in-Arden headquartered Harvey UK’s London office.

Harvey UK will carry out all of the painting, decorating, hygienic coatings and specialist flooring in the 185-bed Cleveland Clinic London in Grosvenor Place, Belgravia. The development is being carried out by contractors Sir Robert McAlpine.

The eight-storey 324,000 sq ft hospital is the first European venture for the Ohio-based Cleveland Clinic which has 16 hospitals in the United States as well as facilities in Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

Due to open in 2021, the hospital will have eight operating rooms, an imaging suite, endoscopy labs, day-case surgery rooms and specialist units for heart and vascular conditions, orthopaedic, digestive disorders and neuroscience. The building will have minimal environmental impact, generating its own heat and power.

Harvey UK managing director Tony Harvey said the company was proud to have been chosen for such an important and prestigious project.

“This hospital will be among the most technologically advanced in Europe and is set to be a leader in medical treatment and research. Our work involves specialist flooring and finishes and will draw on our experience in other large hospitals, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham which we have been supplying finishing services to for the last 10 years, ” he said.

Harvey UK has also carried out work at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.

Established in 1966, Harvey UK is a family-owned finishing and maintenance specialist, working on major projects in the industrial, education, health, local authority and residential sectors.
