Alex Edge started his career at Leicester City Council and joined Edgars three years ago in 2016 as a graduate planner. Alex specialises in development management, heritage proposals and planning feasibility appraisal.

Hugh Shepherd joined Edgars in March 2019 from Peter Brett Associates. He started his planning career in the public sector before moving to the private sector. Hugh’s experience includes development management, local plans, planning appeals and heritage proposals.

Iain Summerwood joined Edgars in May 2019. He began his planning career in the public sector, working within a Borough Council to the west of London. Iain then gained a further four years’ experience within a multi-disciplinary built environment firm. Iain has experience in development management, planning applications, planning appeals and land promotion.

Jayne Norris, director, Edgars said: “We are so proud of Alex, Hugh and Iain. Their commitment to the company and their clients goes above and beyond. It is testament to their continued hard work and care for their clients that has resulted in this trio of promotions. We extend our warmest congratulations as they continue their career with Edgars.”

Alex Edge, senior planner, Edgars said: “I am very excited to begin my new role as a senior planner. When I joined Edgars three years ago, the company had embarked upon an ambitious growth plan to enhance our services to clients, to reach new markets and to expand our profile. Since then, the company has doubled in size, opening offices in Witney and Oxford city centre, welcoming new talent and investing in staff development. I feel privileged to be part of this journey and to have grown with the company. I look forward to furthering my development with Edgars to ensure that we continue to deliver the best expertise and service to our clients.”

Hugh Shepherd, senior planner, Edgars: “Since joining the company in March 2019, I have enjoyed working on and delivering a variety of projects and engaging with some fantastic clients across commercial, agricultural, residential and educational backgrounds. I have been inspired by the work ethic and support that I have experienced within the office. The team is always looking to grow their knowledge and skills to deliver our clients the very best service. It is recognised that different team members bring different skills to the table. We embrace this and learn from each other to deliver the highest quality of work we can. This culture of pursuing excellence, but also of support and staff development, is one of which I am excited to be a part.”

Iain Summerwood, senior planner, Edgars concluded: “Since joining the team earlier this year I have been involved in a variety of projects and am impressed by the professional and collaborative working of the team. I have already been able to work on a variety of educational sector projects and look forward to gaining further experience in this sector and contributing towards planning the future of the built environment.”
