Leading law firm Nelsons has strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of two new experts.

Solicitor Nathan Wescott and paralegal Sabiya Ajij have joined Nelsons’ Leicester office. Nathan qualified as a solicitor in July 2019 after spending more than three years as a paralegal and trainee solicitor at Sutton & Co. Solicitors, in Sutton Coldfield.

He said: “Nelsons has an excellent reputation and I am really looking forward to working with a great team who truly care about giving their clients a voice. I’m new to Leicester so I’m excited to get to know the city, especially as part of a firm that has a well-respected commercial property department that’s continuing to expand.

“Commercial property is a fascinating area of law as you’re helping to transform a city. Completing a transaction is really rewarding as it allows your clients to begin working on what they’d set out to do – whether that’s opening the neighbourhood’s latest coffee shop or building the city’s newest development.”

Sabiya – who is a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives – spent three years in the legal department at Cambridge & Counties Bank, in Leicester, before joining Nelsons.

She said: “I’ve wanted to work for Nelsons since completing my law degree at De Montfort University. It’s a well-known and renowned law firm and I’m proud to say that I’m now an employee here. I’m looking forward to growing my legal expertise. Nelsons is a really nurturing law firm, so it seems like the perfect place to hone my knowledge and develop my career.”

James Coningsby, who leads Nelsons’ commercial property department in Leicester, added: “We are delighted to welcome Nathan and Sabiya to our team. I’m looking forward to working alongside them as we continue to develop and expand our busy department.”
