Steele Raymond advises RBA Restaurants UK Limited on launch of Nathan’s Famous Franchise in Bournemouth

Leading south coast commercial property solicitors Steele Raymond LLP have advised RBA Restaurants UK Limited on the launch of well-known American fast-food chain, Nathan’s Famous in Bournemouth.

The restaurant, based on Old Christchurch Road, is one of only two Nathan’s Famous UK sites, with an outlet also located in Southampton.

Nathan’s Famous is a worldwide company founded in 1916 in Brooklyn, New York, with over 300 franchised units globally.

RBA Restaurants UK Limited Director Reza Aghajanzadeh said: “Nathan’s Famous has a long and proud heritage dated back over 100 years and we’re delighted to be bringing a piece of New York to Bournemouth. We have some big and exciting ambitions for the business, and we’re looking forward to a successful future.”

Commercial property solicitor Rosanna Parker led on the property aspects of the transaction including the lease of the 320 square feet unit, licence for alterations and occupational licence.

Partner and company and commercial solicitor Nick Davies led on the commercial aspects of the franchise agreement.

Rosanna said: “We are delighted to have acted for our client in connection with the commercial property legal aspects of the opening of the new Nathan’s Famous restaurant in Bournemouth. This opening closely follows us assisting our client with the opening of the Nathan’s Famous Southampton restaurant. We very much look forward to continuing to work closely with Reza and Brad in relation to the further expansion of the Nathan’s Famous brand across the south coast.”

Speaking on his experience working with Steele Raymond, Reza said: “The commercial and property teams at Steele Raymond were always there when I needed them. Launching a restaurant brings together so many variables and complexities, but having a legal team that could help manage those complexities made the whole process run as smoothly as possible.”
