Actons makes two senior promotions

(L-R): Zoe Romain, Simon Dakin and James Symons.

Actons, the leading independent law firm in Nottingham, has made two senior promotions as it continues its growth strategy.

Commercial property lawyer Zoe Romain and employment lawyer James Symons have been promoted to director, which has increased the number of directors to sixteen.

Zoe joined Actons in 2014 and works with a wide range of organisations providing advice on residential and commercial property issues. She enjoys a great reputation in the property market and is a committee member of WREN, the property network.

James joined the firm’s employment law team in March 2018 from a large national law firm, and advises SMEs and large organisations on a range of employment law issues for both employers and senior executives.

This latest move in the firm’s growth strategy follows on the back of the firms strongest set of financial results in a number of years and the appointment of Simon Dakin as Chairman in June.

Simon Dakin commented: “The directors of the firm are delighted to welcome Zoe and James as directors. Retaining our talented lawyers, by providing a genuine career opportunity, is a key part of our strategy.”

“Zoe has been with us for five years and during that period has worked exceptionally hard in the commercial property team. She has infectious enthusiasm, is extremely professional and we are all delighted that she is taking the next step in her career with us.”

“James has been with us for a shorter period, but in that time has made a great contribution to the employment team. His knowledge of employment law is excellent, and he delivers his advice in a concise and composed fashion that automatically inspires confidence.”

“I am looking forward to Zoe and James both making a significant contribution to the firm’s future success.”
