Global research firm’s HQ transformed by MCS Group

A multi-million-pound redevelopment and refurbishment of a global research company’s UK headquarters has been completed, leading construction contractor MCS Group has announced.

Kantar Millward Brown’s HQ at Tachbrook Business Park in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, has been transformed by a total remodelling and extension of the original 1980s offices.

The two-year project was carried out over two phases to allow all the employees to continue working at the site. MCS Group was appointed to complete the project by landlord Kames Capital.

MCS Group senior commercial manager Priesh Soni said: “It’s fantastic to see Kantar Millward Brown’s headquarters totally transformed from a dated 1980s office block into a very impressive, contemporary building which will deliver many benefits to the company and its employees.

“Highlights include two new roof terraces, one with a bar and café for events and entertaining. We had to demolish parts of the original building to create the roof terraces and it has made an enormous improvement to the look and feel of the building.”

Work also included creating a three-storey glass atrium at the entrance to the building, a Category B fit out and installation of mechanical and engineering services. Larger windows were fitted, making the offices much lighter, and insulation was improved throughout.

Warwickshire-based MCS Group was also appointed to design and fit-out the office interiors, which include several breakout areas and snugs, booth seating, a mix of open plan offices and meeting rooms.

Priesh added: “I’d like to thank everyone involved in this project for pulling together and delivering a first class result.

“This was an extremely challenging project, starting with having to relocate staff into one half of the building and then move them back when phase two got underway. It was vital that we maintained a good working environment for all the employees, and I think we achieved that under difficult circumstances.

“The building now provides a hugely impressive headquarters. The interior has been completed to a very high standard, with feature walls, a feature staircase and amazing lighting.”

MCS Group is currently constructing warehouse and distribution units at sites across the UK. The company has built and refurbished more than 300 car dealerships including Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, McLaren and Jaguar Land Rover since its inception in 2003.
