Knight Frank nurtures a trio of first-class stars

Leading global property consultancy Knight Frank has strengthened its Yorkshire team by nurturing and then hiring three graduate surveyors – all with first-class university degrees.

Tom Wright and Victoria Harris have joined the Leeds office of Knight Frank from Northumbria University, while John Jarman has joined the Sheffield office from Sheffield Hallam University.

Henrie Westlake, partner and head of Knight Frank in Yorkshire, commented: “We are fortunate this year to have three exceptional people join us in Yorkshire as graduates. Interestingly, all three worked with us during the Placement year of their degrees and requested to continue to work part-time in their final year.

“This showed drive and commitment that was clearly a factor when we were looking at Graduate Recruitment. There is also the benefit that they are up to speed with our systems and approach and therefore were making a valuable contribution from the very beginning.

“Their hard work has been reflected in their exceptional results and we are lucky to have them join us at Knight Frank as they set out on what will unquestionably be glittering careers in the property industry,” he said.

Victoria Harris explained: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to begin my property career at Knight Frank.

“During my Placement year at University, I worked in the Valuation department at the Leeds office of Knight Frank. My final year timetable enabled me to continue to work part-time in the Agency team in parallel with my studies.

“Whilst balancing work and final year study was a challenge, the experience was really helpful in giving me an insight into the many aspects of surveying. Knight Frank could not have been more supportive. Having experts in all fields available to discuss my questions with was brilliant.

“Being able to combine theory and real world experience unquestionably gave me a deeper understanding that was reflected in my degree result.

“Even though I am just beginning my Graduate training, I feel like a part of both the Knight Frank office and the Leeds property market,” she added.

Victoria is working with the award-winning office agency and investment team in Leeds, helping with high-profile projects such as the sale of 1 City Square, 1 City Walk in Leeds and Paradigm at Thorpe Park and the development of 34 Boar Lane in Leeds.

Meanwhile Tom has a range of experience in all aspects of building surveying; in particular project management, dilapidations and professional survey work. He has acted on behalf of landlords, tenants and owner occupiers on a variety of commercial instructions, offering professional and project management services.

John is working with the award-winning industrial property team in Sheffield, where he is responsible for a diverse range of instructions while also assisting colleagues in a number of high-profile developments.
