Yorkshire House & Hub secures significant lettings

Yorkshire House and Hub in the heart of Leeds city centre have secured significant lettings with the assistance of global property consultancy Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield.

Leading IT recruitment company Corecom Consulting and cosmetic company Hairburst have each taken 2,820 sq ft of prime Grade A office space in the recently refurbished Yorkshire Hub.

This £2.5 million modernisation programme of the Yorkshire House and Hub, undertaken by leading UK developers FORE Partnership, has created some of the finest office space in the city.

The imposing 83,000 sq ft, seven-storey building, which dominates Greek Street and East Parade in the heart of the professional and financial core of the city, provides office suites that range from 2,500 sq ft to 18,000 sq ft with rents in the region of £24.50 per sq ft.

Corecom and Hairburst were attracted to the south-facing terrace on the 5th floor, open to all tenants, with stunning panoramic views across the Leeds skyline.

The pioneering Yorkshire Hub and House features design-led, low-carbon, and WiredScore Platinum rated modern office space, ideal for start-up and expanding tech companies.

Jonathan Sanderson, Managing Director at Corecom Consulting, said: “As a high-growth business, we’ve outgrown our City Square HQ in Leeds, opting for the innovative and collaborative working space that the Yorkshire Hub provides.

“We recruit technology professionals for growing, established and very high-profile companies in the City and it’s important to us that we can collaborate more closely with the digital community in Leeds and Yorkshire. The space will enable us to do this and allow us to execute our plan to grow our Leeds team to over 40 employees.”

Elizabeth Ridler, office agency partner with Knight Frank in Leeds, who are jointly marketing the building with Cushman and Wakefield, commented: “The arrival of award-winning, fast growing companies like Corecom and Hairburst at Yorkshire Hub is a resounding endorsement of the stunning refurbishment of this very special building.

“The £2.5 million refurbishment places the development at the very top of the quality Leeds office market. At the same time, there are an exceptional number of amenities available in the immediate vicinity of the newly-pedestrianised Greek Street including All Bar One, Neighbourhood, The Alchemist and San Carlo.

“The building is located close to Leeds Railway Station and within an easy walk of the city’s retail amenities. On-site car parking, with high-quality showers, cycle storage and repairs, is a real bonus.”

Key aspects of the modernisation programme included a new entrance and reception in East Parade for the Yorkshire Hub, brand-new exterior Yorkshire Stone cladding, a new external lighting scheme and refurbished toilets, together with electric charging points in the basement.

Basil Demeroutis, Managing Partner of FORE, explained “We are delighted to welcome Hairburst and Corecom Consulting to the Yorkshire Hub, a building which fosters creativity and innovation. We want successful businesses to thrive here.

“We are one of the first office buildings in Leeds city centre to receive the Top Wired Award for its digital connectivity, which is helping businesses located here grow.

“Digital connectivity is one of the key drivers for occupiers, particularly for Leeds’ growing tech sector where high speed connectivity is crucial. It gives a clear signal to the market that Yorkshire House is not only one of the most digitally connected buildings in the city but that its digital infrastructure is future proofed.”

Ms Ridler added: “The digital connectivity of Yorkshire House and Hub is second to none. The coveted Wired accreditation has set a very high standard and the building has three fibre providers who are present and available to service tenants.

“This is especially attractive for new and expanding technology companies, who regard Leeds, with its superb location, excellent facilities and modern, state-of-the-art offices, as the perfect place to be based,” she added.
