Santander landmark digital hub receives planning approval

Global property investment and development company, Osborne+Co is pleased to confirm that the planning application of its landmark digital hub development in Milton Keynes for Santander has received committee approval.

The Santander Digital Hub is designed to attract and retain the best talent from across the UK and Europe. It will connect the business with the local community by providing an open ground floor publicly accessible retail, vibrant market style open spaces, a community hall, auditorium and co-working space. It also features a restaurant/bar area with a roof terrace on the top floor.

Construction is expected to commence on site in October 2019 and the doors will be open for business before the end of 2022.

James Osborne, Co-founder of Osborne+Co said: “This takes us one step closer to commencing on site and developing a groundbreaking, smart, digital and innovative workplace for Santander”.

Osborne+Co’s approach to design and construction puts owner-occupier needs at the heart of the development to deliver world-class modern workspaces. By redeveloping the site as a new centre for digital banking innovation, paired with the new public amenities, Santander will strengthen its existing base in Milton Keynes, while also generating additional economic and social benefits for the area.

The project team comprises developer Osborne+Co, architects LOM architecture and design, engineers WSP, planning consultants Deloitte, project and cost managers Turner & Townsend, landscape architects Murray Associates and lighting design by Lightivity. As well as the Santander Digital Hub, Osborne+Co was chosen to deliver Santander’s new office in Bootle, Liverpool late last year and are aiming to achieve planning before the end of 2019.
