SuperFOIL Insulation moves to Lincoln

SuperFOIL Insulation has purchased a five acre former food distribution centre from Lincolnshire Co-op which will become the company’s new headquarters.

The company, which produces high performance insulation for residential and commercial properties will be moving its entire operations to Pioneer Way in Lincoln.

The site will also be the new home of web development agency, Orisel after the two companies announced a partnership earlier this year.

SuperFOIL, which was founded by Lincolnshire entrepreneurs Will and Craig Bown in 2006, employs 18 people and produces around 1.5 million square metres of insulation every year. Last year, the company posted record profits after sales grew by 25%.

SuperFOIL is currently based in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, but for the last two years, the father and son partners have been looking for a permanent location in Lincolnshire.

Recently, the company provided 5,500 sq m of non-combustible SFNC insulation for the new Royal Papworth Hospital, enabling the first patients to arrive this month.

Managing Director, Will Bown said:

“I grew up in Lincoln and went to uni here so this city has always been my home, but until now we’ve not been able to bring our business operations here. Looking for a permanent location which suited all our needs has been a long process, but this site on Pioneer Way ticks every box. I’m really excited to be bringing SuperFOIL to Lincoln; a really dynamic, growing city with a great deal of potential.

“SuperFOIL has enjoyed a really successful first 12 years as we’re growing and making a name for ourselves in the construction sector. This new site will enable us to continue growing, bringing more jobs to Lincoln as we trade around the world.”

Lincoln-based Orisel was founded in 2015 by director, Björn Böjen. The company is currently based at The Old Pumping Station on Greater Northern Terrace in Lincoln but now the two companies will work within the same premises.

Will Wall from Lincolnshire Co-op’s agents Banks Long and Co said:

“SuperFOIL has strong connections to the city of Lincoln and it’s a forward-thinking employer with a commitment to sustainability so we’re pleased to have been able to provide them with a permanent home which enables them to relocate their business to Lincoln.”

SuperFOIL’s easy to install Multi Foil range includes the highest performing insulation multi foil products on the market. The insulation is narrower and quicker to install than other insulation types and it is more effective in preventing heat loss through radiation, while also providing an air and vapour barrier. SuperFOIL’s Multi Foil products are produced from up to 40% recycled materials and have a life expectancy of more than 50 years with a GWP rating of 3.

SuperFOIL offers the only non-combustible multi foil insulation (SFNC) on the market. This means that, independent fire tests have demonstrated them to have no calorific value, meaning they will slow a fire rather than feeding it.

Recent notable SuperFOIL installations include Tottenham Court Road Underground Station, Number One Hyde Park and the non-combustible insulation has been used for the new Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge which was completed last month.

SuperFOIL’s products are British Board of Agrément (BBA) approved and are approved by Local Authority Business Control (LABC) and Local Authority Building Standards Scotland (LABSS) in the UK, as well as Deutches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBT) and ZAG in Europe.
