Take off at Ignition warehouse development in Swindon

Canmoor have secured DHL as their first tenant at their Ignition development at Faraday Road, Swindon. Parcel operator DHL is to significantly expand its operational base in Swindon and have signed a pre let agreement to lease on Unit 6 Ignition, Faraday Park, Swindon. The new warehouse facility will be completed in July and comprises 85,000 sq ft.

Unit 6 forms the largest single warehouse facility available on Canmoor’s Phase One at Ignition.

Casey Ferguson of Canmoor commented “Securing DHL on the largest of the Phase One units is a strong indictment of our view that the market in Swindon was in need of some new prime warehousing stock. We can also report strong interest in a number of the other Phase One units.”

Paul Whitmarsh of Whitmarsh Lockhart commented “DHL have been looking to secure a larger warehousing facility for their parcel delivery operation for some time. It is only with the arrival of the new development that we have been able to provide a unit of a specification that is suitable.

There remains a shortage of good quality warehousing in our marketplace and Swindon continues to perform well in the warehousing sector.”

The remaining units in Phase One of Ignition will be available for occupation from July 2019 and Phase Two can provide pre lets of up to 195,000 sq ft.
