Occupiers take the long view as road upgrade leads to lets

Now that the A14 upgrade works have passed the half way mark – with completion scheduled for late next year (2020) – commercial occupiers on typical lease terms in the Cambridge to Huntingdon corridor are bearing short term disruption in anticipation of reduced journey times and excellent access to the M11 and A1.

That’s the view of Barker Storey Matthews whose Huntingdon office has just confirmed the letting of 3 Carisbrooke Court, Buckingway Business Park at Swavesey, Cambridgeshire, acting as joint agent with Bidwells under the landlord’s instruction.

Buckingway Business Park is accessed from Junction 28 of the A14 which also serves Cambridge Services and direct access to the village of Swavesey. It is one of the major junctions between Cambridge and Huntingdon which has seen a brand new flyover constructed to give much improved access for local towns and villages to the A14 trunk road, in either direction, on completion of the works.

Confirmation of the letting of 495.92 sq m (5,334 sq ft) of self-contained office space at 3 Carisbrooke Court, Buckingway Business Park, sees Barker Storey Matthews instructed as joint agents with Bidwells on remaining office space available to let immediately in three other buildings at Carisbrooke Court. All the available office accommodation has been recently refurbished and is offered with good parking ratios.

Available at 2 Carisbrooke Court are ground floor and first floor office space totalling 317 sq m (3,413 sq ft), with 17 allocated car parking spaces.

At 4 and 5 Carisbrooke Court, ground floor offices of 239.87 sq m (2,582 sq ft) and 239.77 sqm (2,581 sq ft), respectively, are available. Both sets of offices have shower facilities and both offer 13 allocated car parking spaces.

Barker Storey Matthews advises that the office accommodation in 2, 4 & 5 Carisbrooke Court is available to let on flexible lease terms.

Stephen Power, Director, Barker Storey Matthews, adds, “With the A14 upgrade due for completion next year, the canniest commercial occupiers along this transport corridor in Cambridgeshire have their eyes on the prize and can look beyond today’s traffic disruption to focus on future benefits.

“Carisbrooke Court, so close to Junction 28 of the A14, is perfectly placed for such occupiers.”
