Alan Pearce, Director of Planning and Development for the South West and Wales, Lambert Smith Hampton.

National property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton has strengthened its South West team with the appointment of senior planning specialist Alan Pearce.

Alan joins the Bristol office of LSH as Director of Planning and Development for the South West and Wales, and in his new role, he will be focusing on developing a full planning function across the region and providing advice to national, regional and local clients.

Prior to LSH, Alan spent twelve years with Alder King where he was one of the founding partners of the planning team before going on to become Head of Planning at the firm. During his career, he has worked on a number of high profile projects including National Composites Centre, Bristol Arena and Clarks Shoe Factory. Alan has been responsible for the delivery of planning regeneration projects in the student and PRS markets across several city centres (Bristol, Bath, Cardiff and Reading), and provided advice and negotiated consents on residential and commercial developments on brownfield and greenfield sites throughout the South West, including an award winning scheme in Street with Crest Nicholson.

Alan’s experience spans a wide range of public and private sector clients, including the NHS, MOD, Bristol City Council, the National Trust, educational establishments, banks such as RBS, Barclays and Lloyds and many national developers and housebuilders including Square Bay, Hallam, Crest and Barratts. A planning graduate of UWE, Alan was elected member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 1998.

Commenting on his new role, Alan said “I am looking forward to establishing a successful planning team across the South West and Wales at Lambert Smith Hampton. An important part of my remit will be to co-ordinate work between our development, investment and agency divisions, interacting with our Bristol, Exeter, Cardiff and Swansea offices, as well as acting for national clients on major projects across the UK.”

“I have worked for a wide range of clients so far in my career and the prospect of teaming up with the expanding national planning offer as LSH grows this side of the business is extremely exciting.”

Head of LSH’s Bristol office, director Peter Musgrove added: “Alan is highly regarded in his industry sector and is perfectly suited to lead our growing team as we continue to expand our market presence. Alan joins LSH South West and Wales at a dynamic time for the company and I have no doubt that his significant experience will be invaluable as we continue to enhance client service levels, develop relationships and explore new areas of opportunity.”
