GVA welcomes January new starters

GVA’s Manchester office has kicked-off the new year by expanding its team with six new additions.

Joining the office’s project consultancy and management team, which was established last year by Barry Crichton, Liz Hartley is now a director and Mackayla Colwell has joined as an associate. Both Liz and Mackayla join GVA from Mace and bring extensive health sector experience to the team.

The additional four new starters will all be joining the planning team.

Following experience at Zerum and St Helens Council, Stephen Gill has joined GVA HOW Planning as a planner. While fellow new-starter Ed Harvey joins as a principal planner after a number of years working in-house at McCarthy and Stone, as well as at CBRE. In his new role, Ed will oversee a variety of projects including GVA HOW’s city centre projects in Manchester and Liverpool.

Alice Carr also joins from Knights, as a senior planner in a unique role which will see her seconded to Manchester Airport Group to work in its strategic planning and development team. Although Alice will be based at the airport, she will work nationally.

Josh Thomas will be joining the EIA team as a consultant from Ricardo where he has been working for the last three years following the completion of his EIA Masters at The University of Manchester.

Commenting on the new additions to the team, Chris Cheap said: “We’re delighted to start the year by welcoming a raft of professionals, who all bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the team.

“2018 was an exciting time for us as we officially welcomed GVA HOW Planning, as well as the project consultancy and management team and we are equally optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead in 2019. We are working on a diverse range of projects across the business and the growth in the team reflects our ambitious plans for the year under new ownership.”

As well as Manchester, GVA has offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool and Newcastle.
