Sony UK Technology Centre (UK TEC) in Pencoed has been chosen to manufacture the sensor technology behind the innovative office solution Nimway, as part of Sony ’s Seed Acceleration Program (SAP).
Nimway’s technology, which utilises Sony’s wireless occupancy sensors, will be produced at the Welsh manufacturing facility due to its world-class facilities and skilled team.
Sony’s Seed Acceleration Program (SAP), which creates start-up projects and supports their business operations was established in 2014.
The program has since expanded into Europe in 2016 where it is based in Lund, Sweden. Nimway is the 1st commercial business.
On securing the contract, Sony UK TEC managing director Steve Dalton OBE said it was a privilege to be supporting the creation of this revolutionary smart office solution.

The Shipping Confirmation Ceremony took place at the factory in Pencoed on 20 November 2018 and marked the success of this collaboration to date. Executives and management from Sony’s Seed Acceleration Program Europe, Nimway and Sony UK TEC were present at the occasion to officially thank everyone making the production come to life.
